Sapaly Express Train from Hanoi to Sapa is an interesting experience. 

• The beds were hard, narrow and not very long, but surprisingly comfortable.
• The linens were sparkling clean and the pillows are comfortable.
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste are provided along with disposable slippers.
• The trek to the bathroom was a lurching one and not for anyone unsteady on their feet.
• The toilets are not available until the train starts moving. They are not great and I would also use them minimally. But it is a good solution 

• VIP 2 berth cabin at the Sapaly Express Train looks similar to the regular four-berth cabin except with the upper two berths folded.
• In comparison with overnight trains in many countries in Europe, Eygpt, Russia and China. Sapaly is a reasonably comfortable experience.
• There is no washbin inside the cabin but the toilet and sink at the end are reasonably clean throughout.
